DD172 Complex

Dame Dash might be the reason why I miss all my lectures next week, because if I could I would be at DD172- a multi levelled complex owned by rap mogul Dame Dash. The building is home to two state-of-the art recording studies and an art gallery.

What I love about Dash's basement is the random guests that can turn up. MCs, just come and chill, record something, smoke something and most probably drink something. They just jam. You might catch my guy, Curren$y (formely of Young Money), Jay Electronica, The Cool Kids or the ecleftic Mos Def on any given Sunday. Some pretty dope stuff.

Ghana vs Nigeria

Yep, on Thursday the two West African giants will battle out it for a place in Sunday's Africa Cup Of Nations Final. No question what side we are on, so hopefully at Sunday, 4pm, I will be busy watching the Black Stars in the Final. The war of words started a long time ago, its only going to get worse.

I Love Comedy

What's going on people, it's been a while since I posted I've been acting like Royal Mail when they were striking but I'm back. (Once again)

For those of you that have time on your hands I suggest you get down to Black Grape to attend "I Love Comedy".

Kevin J brings another night of comedy with other comedians including Eddie Kadi, Slim and Wille Robo. A night of laughter is definitely guaranteed!

My Albums To Look Out For In 2010

Nicki Minaj

I may be cussed, but this girl has a undeniable buzz, a great body, flow and some very humorous lines. That buzz made Universal Motown get the chequebook out and her album will drop later this year, in conjuction with Young Money Ent. One thing I do not like though, is the way SHE SHOUTS MID-SENTENCES in her lyrics sometimes. Can be very silly at times, but I have heard her serious and reflective on a few occasions. Can hold a note as well, but the main reason I am looking out for this album, is the amount of females that are on to Minaj. The Harajuku Barbie is being championed by girls everywhere as the hope for a serious MC, so I am eager to see if she can deliver or not.

Google Nexus One

In the age where phones are increasingly becoming like mini-computers, it is only a matter of time before the big boys in PC industry start making phones. Apple, obviously have their world famous and industry changing iPhone, well now Google have now entered the phone market, with Nexus One.

The iPhone was marketed as a 'smartphone', Google have labelled their product as a 'superphone'. The Nexus One has an impressive voice input feature, which can be used in e-mails, chat conversations and even for updating your Facebook status.

The Nexus One can tell you the weather based on your location, can use more than one app at a time, and interestingly unlike Apple, all of their applications are to be free to download.

Maybe not an iPhone Killer, but could be very decent. Who knows?
