An Evening With The Black Stars

Yesterday, the whole HNW team, (there's just two of us by the way) rolled to Wembley to see England take on Ghana. I have never witnessed such an atmosphere in my life, really happy I witnessed this game up close. It could have been oh so different, as Dante had me standing near a hot dog stand, waiting for him to provide with my ticket. To top it off, I was wearing my prized pair of kicks, so I was looking out in fear random drops of ketchup and trying to spot a dimpled stocky individual at the same time.

Despite some instances over-excited folk standing up when Ghana had the ball on the halfway line (in footy, this usually only happens when a team looks like they might score).  Best match I have been to, and one of the funniest nights of my life. On the train, on the walkway to the Stadium, queuing up for £8 cheeseburgers, (not me, way too cheap for that) I heard some wild score predictions and I saw many friends, family members and old school/college people.

When Baby Jet netted that last minute equaliser, I think the noise we made could have been heard in Kumasi Market, the real one.

Shouts to Haw, Abz and Marc and everyone else I saw.

C'est Magnifique

A lot of  you probably won't know and will not care but Nike are now the official kit sponsors of the French Football Federation, which basically means it they (Nike) and not Adidas will sponsor the football team. Adidas had sponsored the French Football team for 40 years.

That being said, the reason for posting, is the NSW French Football Federation collection. Some of the pieces are superb, well at least to me anyway. I have long had an affair with French football for years, Paris Saint-Germain and their great Nike kits, large of pool of unfairly skilful players and the crazy excitement of Ligue 1.  Seeing the FFF, along with NSW just does it for me. Voicemail Season Again - Fifa VS Pro

Okay today, the excited folk are buying Fifa and already writing off Pro, these fools never learn, in four weeks they will no longer be in love with Fifa and its great cosmetic features. You see, Fifa is like a pretty girlfriend, that hooks you in with her looks, but doesnt do nothing, after a while you will be bored. Sure there a lot of nice accessories to play with, but its not long before you realise, she is not for you.

Pro is a decent looker, but is like a ride or die chick, who doesn't do everything to please but ultimatley knows what you want and what will make you push your buttons. Better gameplay, a new online Master League feature and an revamped Become A Legend mode, I will be foaming at the mouth on the 8th of October, the same day as other real football fans.

Write The Future

I believe I have done very well, to hide my football obsession on the blog. Make no mistake its not all about boat shoes, chinos and anything to do with Curren$y in my life. Nike have just released their World Cup Campaign ad, 'Write The Future' featuring some of their highest paid football players, Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney and Mr Bentface aka Franck Ribery. Enjoy.

5 Things On My To Do List

#1. Get some real revision done, that is imperative at this moment in time. Real talk, I have to do a lot more.

No, I do not have a fringe, nor am I a woman. Google Images baby.

#2. To not worry about Arsenal's season, if they don't care why should I.

#3. Go back to Marc by Marc Jacobs, need to replace a few things.

#4. Stop getting sucked in by Tesco Buy One Get One Free offers. The amount of times I walk in to buy a pizza and a juice, and come out with extra bottles of water and spare lightbulbs.

#5. Buy Pilot Talk. Been waiting for a little while. 

The Past Week

Music- Lil' Wayne not going to jail. The Young Money leader was expected to be sentenced on Tuesday due to his second degree attempted gun possession charge, stemming from an arrest in 2007. However sentencing was delayed, because of 'dental surgery'. Considering the weekend before his court date, he shot 10 videos over a weekend, I believe the Carter V will done in about an hour or so.




Music- A big video dropping this past week featuring some UK heavyweights. Sincere just dropped a decent little club banger featuring Scorcher, G FrSH, Ghetts, Little Dee, & Wretch 32. Directed by Jak FrSH.

Fashion- The sad news, that fashion icon Alexander McQueen took his own life this week. Tributes have been pouring in all over the world, from his peers and consumers that were in love with his daring designs. Rest In Peace

Sport- Kwame Nkrumah Acheampong is the one man Ghana Ski team at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver.


I don't know what is worse, that he IS THE Ghana Ski team, or that he is called the Snow Leopard, I mean look at his bodysuit.

Ghana vs Nigeria

Yep, on Thursday the two West African giants will battle out it for a place in Sunday's Africa Cup Of Nations Final. No question what side we are on, so hopefully at Sunday, 4pm, I will be busy watching the Black Stars in the Final. The war of words started a long time ago, its only going to get worse.

Pro 2010 has come, that is it. If the whole male species goes quiet for a month you know why.

Congratulations

Ghana have made history by becoming the first African team to win the the Fifa Under-20 World Cup, beating the mighty Brazil in the final. On behalf of Dantè and myself, Hey Nu World would like to congratulate the Ghana U-20 team aka the Black Satellites. Mi fri Ghana!

It's Nearly That Time Again

I'm no Mystic Meg, I don't really believe in star signs and horoscopes but I can predict that by the end of October and the beginning of November may put a strain on peoples relationships, and peoples phone calls may get mythed.

Yes, the time is nearly upon us the arrival of Pro Evolution Soccer 2010, Football Manager 2010 and Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2 are not to far off. Fifa 10 just dropped this Friday.

Girls you may find cold winter nights that much colder, or you may find yourself in a hot sweaty room full of angry males dedicating their time to these games religiously. Peoples ego's will be challenged, some will leave feeling emasculated it's emotional!

A Night With The Gunners

Been away for a while, went to see the Gooners midweek against West Brom.

Decent game, good atmosphere, parking in North London on matchdays, madness just ask Ade.

Nosebleed seats, I know but still a lot of stuff. And we won as well.
