'Dunking On A Reindeer'

If you didn't know, Nike have a running basketball ad campaign where Kobe and Lebron are puppets. There are a whole bunch of vids online, but this one is about Santa (KRS-One) and the MVPuppets being challenged by the cocky Blitzen (Lupe Fiasco) and his team. Very funny, especially the chopped n screwed bit at the end.

Tis The Season To Be Jolly

If it has ever been the season to be jolly it is truly now with "snow falling all around us, children playing having fun" (literally) a few days prior to Christmas all is looking well and a white Christmas is on the cards. Upon my travels today, whilst not trying to slip on the icy roads of Colchester I came across a limited edition pack of Oreo's

They look exactly as they do on the box, unlike your usual Mcdonalds advert where your shown a cheeseburger with perfection, and when you buy it, it looks like some one was playing with lego!

If you are to come across them, be sure to purchase and share them as there are 8 in the pack plus it is that "festive season"?

Peace

Question Time...

At Hey Nu World we are trying to make this a feature every month to try and interview somebody making progress in their industry/scene this month we present to you question time with Chipmunk!

HNW: What’s going on Chipmunk now let me ask you after 3 mix tapes, 2 MOBO’s awards, 1 album all at the age of 18 and your being acknowledged by music pundits such as “Simon Cowell” how does it feel?

Chip: It feels good to know my work is being acknowledged by people with such status such as Simon Cowell, I’ve worked hard to get here. You know where we are from opportunities don’t present themselves to you. So to say I put the work in is understatement, you get me, you reap what you sow?

HNW: I’ve been following your music for some time now when you used to spit bars such as “I’m not Peter Pan but where I’m from is Netherland” and also” “When you spit your bredrins increase like unironed clothes” what and how did you develop your lyrics from now till then?

Chip: (Laughs) ahh man that’s old school (laughs), just writing really nonstop and working hard

HNW: is there anything or anyone who keeps you on your toes/keeps you to maintain the levels?

Chip: Me myself and I, to be honest I just keep trying to raise the standard, I set each time my pen hits the pad or every time I’m in the booth

HNW: You recently worked with Beverly Knight what was it like recording with her?

Chip: She’s been in the game for a while, she’s well respected it was a good experience she might feature on my next album?

HNW: On that note I recently was on a train, a man and his son where both listening to your album both bumping their heads hard as they were enjoying the music . What was the mindset when making the album?

Chip: When I started making the album my mindset was just to do me and not follow anyone else, and to make sure I cater for everyone I got songs on there for the man dem, songs that we can all relate to such as oopsy daisy.

HNW: I understand you have your video blog called “Chip TV”, what’s that about?

Chip: basically it’s just a day in the life of me really just being me, like you’ll see me kicking ball, cooking and doing shows and that. Other artists do this and that to build a brand, but I’m just giving people an insight to my life.

HNW: I was recently watching one episode of Chip TV and you were performing in Scotland, what’s it like when you do shows?

Chip: The best feeling is when the crowd are singing your songs back to you, that feeling I can’t describe apart from that I used to get butterflies when I used to first go on stage but now I’m cool I just get in the zone and let it flow from there. My most memorable show was performing at Wembley in front of 30,000 people it was crazy!

HNW: So what is next for Chipmunk?

Chip: I got the new video out “Look for Me” people watch out for it, and also I got the tour coming up next year should be starting in February. Apart from that just more hard work!

HNW: Thanks for your time Chip, we really appreciate it.

Chip: No problem shouts to Hey Nu World people check it out and tell a friend to tell a friend.

All I Want For Christmas..

Since I like posting my shortlists or lists of any kind really, here is my Christmas wishlist, all my one-way Secret Santas look carefully.

Remember I was talking about a denim shirt time ago, still havent' found one. Well I still haven't found one and money is low, but you get the drift. One like this, will do just fine.

The Office Season 3 on DVD. Probably my favourite show on television along with Scrubs and Football Tonight on Sky Sports News. Every year, myself and HMV have an agreement in place where they supply with me a new series, only trouble, I still have to pay.

For my beloved Arsenal to shoot up the table and be as close as possible to the Premier League leaders. If we are top come New Year's day, I won't need any of the other present.

To have gone back in time, on been on the set of the Young Money 'Bed Rock' video. Looks like a lot of stuff.

The Thornton Brothers: Jacks Of All Trades

The Thornton brothers aka the Clipse are back on their grind, with the new album slated for a late 2009 release “Till The Casket Drops” the end of 2009 looks like a very prosperous for the brothers. Singles include "Kind Of Like A Big Deal" featuring Kanye and also the latest single “I’m Good” featuring Pharrell .

As well as their radio singles, The Clipse still have their trademark cocaine raps which can be found on their street singles "Doorman" or "Popeyes" with Killa Cam himself.

In addition their clothing line “Play Cloths” has dropped a new collection for the holiday with what I believe are some exciting pieces. Pieces include a few beanies which represent an adolescent, but are still suitable for all. My favourite would have to be the all red beanie with the Play logo on it. Other pieces to collection are a “Play Varsity” jacket

For me it’s a revamp of BBC/Ice Cream and I must say I like. The Virginia natives are going in right now and I await the arrival of their album because if you know Clipse, you know they put out quality material. Non-believers should just go and listen to 'Hell Hath No Fury'.
