Live from the Jay Elec Show - Kwarmz

Last night me and the boy wonder Dantz aka Hey Nu World, went to see New Orleaner spitter Jay Electronica. His first full UK show, at the Jazz Cafe despite some tardiness issues it was a very good show by the MC, who is lyrical as he is funny. Like very funny.  The supporting act of the night was Klashnekoff. Below this pic, are various pics of our night out.

I Wanna Stop Right Now #2

Young Money member Tyga and Cash Money something Brisco, flow over that Snoop 'I Wanna Rock' instrumental. Tyga goes in, Brisco is just wearing a lot of chains really. Keep an eye out for Tyga or Tyga Tyga as he can be known. No lies. And yeah I made a mistake, Juelz did a lot of stuff.

Alone With My Thoughts

Over the weekend, I was fortunate enough to hear the impressive mixtape, 'Alone With My Thoughts' by Brewer. Brewer hails from Ilford, the 20 year old has razor sharp delivery, lyrical content as well as a refreshing outlook on his music and life. The production which was done and overseen by production team, The Confectionery is nothing short of brilliant, like real industry quality. 'Alone With My Thoughts' is free to download from today.

@ The Jazz Cafe

Highly revered New Orleans lyricist, Jay Electronic is due to step onto these shores for two shows at the Jazz Cafe on the 17th and 18th February. The Wednesday showwill be hosted by Benji B and the following night, hosting duties will rest with DJ Semtex. Tickets can be purchased here. Peep the promo video below. Have to shout-out my partner in crime for this one, Dantz.

The Past Week

Music- Lil' Wayne not going to jail. The Young Money leader was expected to be sentenced on Tuesday due to his second degree attempted gun possession charge, stemming from an arrest in 2007. However sentencing was delayed, because of 'dental surgery'. Considering the weekend before his court date, he shot 10 videos over a weekend, I believe the Carter V will done in about an hour or so.

Music- A big video dropping this past week featuring some UK heavyweights. Sincere just dropped a decent little club banger featuring Scorcher, G FrSH, Ghetts, Little Dee, & Wretch 32. Directed by Jak FrSH.

Fashion- The sad news, that fashion icon Alexander McQueen took his own life this week. Tributes have been pouring in all over the world, from his peers and consumers that were in love with his daring designs. Rest In Peace

Sport- Kwame Nkrumah Acheampong is the one man Ghana Ski team at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

I don't know what is worse, that he IS THE Ghana Ski team, or that he is called the Snow Leopard, I mean look at his bodysuit.

Wretch32.com

With a new website Wretch32.com, new line of Wretchroboy clothing and new mixtape Wretch32 is most definitely on his entrupeneurial grind

Whilst travelling to and from London i had a chance to not hear, but listen to Wretch 32's new mixtape "Wretch32.com" Any one who is a fan/critic of Wretch expects lyrics which will blow your mind as well as great rhyme schemes and complex word play.

If you haven't downloaded it already you need it on your hard drive asap. Wretch doesn't fail to deliver as expected it's coloured with great rhyme schemes and serious word play and plenty of double entendres. At times lyrics will have you have you saying "nah he didn't just say that, madness!"

Features include Scorcher, Doneao, Chipmunk and Mercston just to name a few. Production wise theres a few beats from Wizzy Wow as well as some originals such as "Say Something" (Timberland) "Heartbreak" to name a few.

Here's a few of my favourite tracks

I Can't Stop Ft Scorcher

Say Something Freestyle Ft Scorcher

Streetlove Freestyle Ft Scorcher

The Scorcher Wretch combination works well I believe, it's only a preview of what the movement has to offer. I eagerly anticipate their mixtape/album

To conclude this is more than a solid mixtape as showcases raw talent. Although Wretch has some mainstream recognition I still believe he's slept on people need to recognise his ability and what he brings to the game!

To get the mixtape hit the link Wretch32.com

Manbags For Your Gladrags

Dont' know about you lot, but I feel like I have reached the point where I feel need to take a holdall for anything of significance, such as weekend trip back to London or a two hour lecture on campus. I have one at the mo, but I am on the prowl for many more, so take a butcher's at some of them.

I personally think this bag is a lot, a nice canvas holdall from ASOS. I wouldn't break it off with those brown shoes though, not yet anyway.

Last year I was this close to buying something similar, this rucksack from Mango is smart, but maybe a tad too big.

An all black everything stitched offering from Ted Baker. Sub-par for me.

A leather look holdall from ASOS. Kind of decent in my opinion.

All of these bags and more can be found in the ASOS Bags section .

... 'But They Look Like Sneakers'

A new season of Vans shoes from the 2010 Spring Line have just popped up. Since Vans are definitely are the new kids on the block, when it comes to kicks, I thought I would share. Here are some of the more interesting pieces from the shoe line and the clothing line.

Don't tell me I don't look out for you lot. Courtesy of Urban Industry.

My Latest Ish.

Music-
Haven't really downloaded a new mixtape yet this year, but I have been bumping Curren$y of Wiz Khalifa's collaborative mixtape, 'How Fly'. Hailing from New Orleans and Pittsburgh respectively, these two just rap about smoking, how fly they are and their preference in women, as well as their travel exploits, over laid-back smooth beats. Look out for these two.

Assignments-
Yeah they are still there. Trust. Waiting for watermarking is not the one.

Clothes-
Baseball/Letterman Jackets- Carharrt, holler at me. Would let you advertise for free. No lie. Hey Nu Carharrt World, new name coming soon!

Tees- My addiction to Lacoste, has well and truly returned. No. 10 Size 3 Polo, almost here.
