Lacoste L!VE x Breaks of 10- Selector Sessions Party

Last week at their Soho store, Lacoste L!VE threw a collaborative party with blog site, Breaks Of 10 showcasing some of the freshest and talented artists and DJ's in the London hip-hop scene. Last Japan and DJ Motive committed some crimes on the decks, playing the biggest tracks new and old, from this side of the pond and Stateside. The kid, ItsNate was the main performer on the night, the North Londoner doing no harm to his increasing buzz and rep as a talented wordsmith. Nate also invited TR Fernandez to join him, and the two peformed a new number, that had several heads knocking. Free 'juice' was supplied on the night by Koppaberg, and with many attendants in good spirits in the packed store, the night could definitely be seen as a success.

The Life and Times of Albert Heijn

Myself and a bunch of others went to Amsterdam not too long ago, to see Young Khalifa perform. DJ Motive was on the bill that night and there was bunch of us out there. 3/4 of the Trapstar Collective were present, Skits, Shadez The Misfit and Its Nate- Henry Houdini, JC Adams, Jack Cannon and countless others. The concert was alright, and Amber Rose is something else. Good times were had. And then some. Pics below.

A Weekend in Amsterdam

A couple of days ago, myself and Nate (Its The Leak) went on a Amsterdam weekender. We were staying out there with a good friend of ours, Dr Lemon. Aside from the cold weather, and the amount of dangers faced when crossing the road, Amsterdam for the most part was live. We went to one, two coffee shops, hit some cool shops like Patta and Acht, and went to the Ajax ArenA Football Musuem, that was a lot of stuff for me, because of my love for the beautiful game. Lookout for another Hey Nu Leak Euro trip, fees have to be examined and money needs to stack.  Sidenote-the trams/cars/bicycle/bus threat is not a joke and cyclists think they own the road out there.

PlayStation Game Runners - Blocks Public Open Day

The Game Runners event for the social game, BLOCKS, took place on the Friday just gone. The Public Open Day took place in Brick Lane, and both members of HNW were in attendance, Its The Leak also made a cameo appearance. Yours truly, failed miserably and went out in the first round. Dantz went through to the third round, one away from the final, so at least someone from the team repped.  By the time the competition rolled around, there was a healthy amount of people.

The game is about logic and slowly building your tower of blocks, it may look simple, but you had to make sure each side touching, matched the correct symbol. Well that's my excuse anyway.  The life sized blocks were used in the final round and added to the excitement.

The winner of the competition won a PlayStation 3 and a PlayStation Move motion controller. The event went well, and below are some pics of what went down. 

PlayStation Game Runners Public Open Day

Just recently, I had informed you all about the Games Runners event, with some background info and what have you. Now I can let you know about the Public Open Day, which happens on Friday 8th October and will be held at Ely's Yard, The Old Truman Brewery, 91 Brick Lane, E1. The event is sure to be a lot of stuff, not only will there be a free tournament for members of the public to try their hands at BLOCKS but also a live paint session. The Hey Nu World Boys will be in attendance and the festivities start at 12pm and are due to finish at 8.30pm.

Crooked Tongues 10th Anniversary BBQ

Footwear store Crooked Tongues yesterday held their summer BBQ to celebrate being in business for 10 years. As a milestone was reached, they pulled out the stops supplying a bottomless bin of free booze and also free chicken provided by Nandos. The event was also sponsored by Reebok and Dickies, and apart from missing out on some hot wings, after the night was over I can say I was shown a good time. Lol. You have to pardon the cheese. PnB x Silent London x Stop Begging Launch Party

The Party n Bullshit gang along with Stop Begging and UK streetwear brand, Silent London are having  a launch party on Saturday 9th October. Good times will be had. And then some. Kiss FM's Logan Sama and Motive will be some of the DJ's on rotation, and the night is hosted by Mighty Moe from the legendary Heartless Crew. Read the flyer above for more info.

Show Me A Good Time

Yesterday, my sister and I took a trip down to London KOKO, to see Janelle Monae live. Let me tell you this, the show was amazing, her vocal range, dancing skills, (that 'Tightrope' stuff is something else), her energy amongst other things made it one of the best shows I have ever been to. KOKO was packed to the rafters and the crowd were in fine voice much like Ms Monae herself.

British rockers Wolf Gang, were the opening act and were very impressive, a lot of sing-alongs and toe-tappers in their catalogue, all in all they performed  seven tracks and I  was not eagerly anticipating their exit. Some annoying little trick that insisted on speaking, singing and screaming like Janelle Monae after the show was not enough to ruin a great night.

Conspiracy For Good -Launch Party

Tim Kring, who can credit the colossal sci-fi drama, Heroes as a brainchild recently joined forces with the Nokia  Ovi. The first alternate reality game, which actively played out in real life, where participants fulfil tasks through charitable organisations to make a difference in some shape,way or form.

The Launch Party, which was hosted by youth agency Ruby Pseudo Consulting happened last weekend under the arches in London Bridge. There were events such as artists   pitting their wits against one another, having to draw an image in an allotted amount of time, as well as acts like P. Money and Giggs performing. Wasn't able to attend personally due to other commitments, (why did they have to fall on the same day?) but reliable and trusted sources tell me good times were had. And then some. 2 Weeks Overdue - Blame The Midwife

Hey Nu World. Its been a few thousand minutes since we last spoke but I have been working like a slave, been mad busy but I'm here now.

On the 4th July, as you already knew, the Wireless Festival took place. It was dope. Jay has a command of the stage I have never seen before . Scorcher's delivery was on point and J. Cole and Wale's crowd participation skills were very impressive. A lot of people, a lot of girls and a lot of dry, dusty toes (sandals will get a rethink before next years festivities).
